In 2014 Debby Blakey was deputy chief executive at superannuation fund HESTA and had applied for the top job.
Her boss, mentor and former HESTA CEO, Anne-Marie O’Loghlin, gave Blakey a critical piece of advice ahead of her interviews, telling Blakey to be herself and to not be afraid to put distance between herself and O’Loghlin.
